If you have an illness or disability which makes reading difficult, you can join Listening Books to gain access to thousands of fantastic audiobooks for leisure and learning, and the best thing is, you can choose from 3 easily accessible formats! Our library boasts fiction and non-fiction titles for both adults and children. We support the National Curriculum from Key Stage 2 to A-level and record many texts and study guides that are not available elsewhere. Both individuals and organisations can join.
We are a postal and internet-based library service and becoming a member starts from as little as £20 a year.
So if you can't read, why not listen instead?
Please visit Downloadable for more details and contact our library team if you would like any help choosing a portable MP3 player. We also offer our audiobooks via internet streaming and through the post on MP3 CDs.
Our streaming service is straightforward to use. From just £20 per year we'll issue you with a unique username and password which you can use to license up to 10 PCs of your choice. Please note the streaming service is not yet compatible with Macs.
From just £35 per year you will have access to our full library of MP3 CDs, with an allocation of two in circulation at any one time. We are constantly adding new titles to our library and you can borrow as many as you’d like throughout your membership.
If you would find it difficult to pay the membership fee, we have a limited number of free places available and may be able to help. Please go through the application form process and tick the box, indicating that you would struggle with the membership fee.
