Top Ten Tuesday: We loved 'audio' week!

October 4, 2016 0 Comments
'Top Ten Tuesday' is a feature created by the blog The Broke and the Bookish to encourage book bloggers to join in with some fun and interesting themed lists... because everyone loves a good 'top ten'!

Every week The Broke and the Bookish release a new topic to base the list around, and a couple of weeks ago that topic was 'audio'! Our favourite part of this was, unsurprisingly, all things audiobook and podcast related.

We wanted to share our favourites of these lists with you, so here are our top 10 'Top Ten Tuesdays' from audio week (apologies for the tongue twister)!

  1. The Broke and the Bookish pick out the audiobooks they've really enjoyed. These include The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith, narrated by Robert Glenister.
  2. Cornerfolds pick the books they wouldn't have finished without audio, including Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
  3. For the Love of Words put forward their picks of the best audiobooks out there. Do you agree that theses are the best?
  4. Bookish Lifestyle share their ten all time audiobook favourites - see if your favourite makes their list!
  5. The Fictional Reader recommend not only some great audiobooks, but some great podcasts too! She even recommends an android podcast app!
  6. Tripping Over Books choose their top audiobook narrators. Jim Dale who reads The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern is on the list.
  7. Lazy Book Lovers pick the books that they really want to listen to in audio form - what books are on your to-listen list?
  8. One Night Book Stand also pick their to-be-listened-to titles. They've got some great books on there, including The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman.
  9. My Thoughts... Literally have compiled a brilliant set of book series for you to binge listen to. The fantastic His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman has a well-deserved place on the list.
  10. Unleashing Readers give us their favourite audiobooks and audiobook series'. So whether you want a one off listen or to get drawn into another world for a while, you're covered.

It's always really interesting to see which audiobooks other people are into, and the similarities and differences to what you enjoy! Plus, audiobook recommendations of all varieties can help you discover something new!

Let us know if these blog posts take you on any exciting audiobook or podcast journeys!

We've recently added Seal Surfer by Michael Foreman to our Sound Learning collection 🏄

Highly commended for the Special Educational Needs Book Award, Seal Surfer is a fantastic, inclusive book to teach children aged 3-8 about physical disabilities 💜

We recorded Seal Surfer in-house as part of our Sound Learning project, where we produce educational titles unavailable in audio elsewhere to help more children access great books 🎧
