For an annual fee of just £25, you can purchase a membership for your friend, relative or loved one, giving them access to over 9,500 audiobooks - covering everything from adult fiction to children's classics. As a charity, Listening Books supports UK residents who have an illness, disability, learning or mental health condition that makes reading print, holding a book, or turning pages a challenge. Click here to view the full list of supported conditions.

A gift membership gives access to our full range of online titles, either streamed through our website, or downloaded using the free Libby app, as well as thousands of online newspapers and magazines via PressReader.

Next Steps

After payment, you’ll receive an email with the gift code and activation instructions. To request a printed certificate, email support@listening-books.org.uk. (Printed or email certificates are unavailable from 24th Dec to 2nd Jan, however you can print a template here.)

Important!

Please include the recipients last name on the application, as this must match when the gift recipient activates the membership using the gift code.
Gift memberships can be redeemed for up to one year after purchase.
The recipient must meet our membership criteria by having a print disability that impacts reading or holding a book. Click here to view our membership criteria.
If the person you have bought the gift for does not qualify for membership (as outlined in our T&Cs here) and uses the gift code, their membership will be cancelled with immediate effect. If you are unsure of who would qualify for membership, please contact our Membership Team at support@listening-books.org.uk before purchase. All gift memberships are non-refundable, and if provided by post, cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. In some cases, we may allow transfer of the gift membership to another qualifying individual, before the code has been activated. Please contact support@listening-books.org.uk in this case.
