Soon to be released as a film, Hamnet is a historical fiction novel which tells the story of Shakespeare's family life. Whilst he is away writing his plays in London, his wife Agnes is at home with their children as the plague reaches Stratford Upon Avon and tragedy strikes. This book transported me back to the time of William Shakespeare and has made me even more excited to watch the film.
