Audiobooks for the inclusive classroom

Two children lying on grass looking at a laptop surrounded by paperback books.

We know that teachers and students need the best tools to reach their literacy objectives.  We are passionate about supporting the curriculum and, following the success of the Sound Learning initiative, we at Listening Books continue to extend and develop our service to schools by offering audiobooks that support those in primary education, right through to A-Level. We offer a wide range of titles that have cross-curricular appeal, including set texts, study and revision guides as well as numerous texts that inspire understanding and promote wider reading. Subjects covered include core subjects such as Maths, English and Science, as well as PSHE and History, plus elective subjects such as Music, Psychology and Art History.

All audiobooks are either commercially sourced or recorded in-house in the Listening Books studios by professionally qualified actors and sound recording engineers. Many of the books accessible to members, such as CGP revision guides, are unavailable anywhere else in the audio format. Audiobooks make literature accessible and engaging, providing immersive learning and engagement that can be tailored to individual needs. Offering audiobooks in the classroom equips students to take ownership of their own education, whilst also providing an opportunity for teachers to measure impact and improvement. In addition, our digital service is easy to administer without the need for extra equipment. All our books can be played through a PC or Mac, or downloaded to portable devices such as an iPhone.

If you would like to join Listening Books and access all of our titles, you can do so here.

Thank you all for the amazing work you do. As well as my dyslexic son being a great fan of Listening Books, I am a Dyslexia Specialist and recommend you to every client. It is not only the fiction books that are so good for them, but also the text books and topic books which are so useful too! It really helps learners access the curriculum.
